The free, day-long event on Oct. 10 at Madison Area Technical College (Truax Campus) offers six educational tracks by fathers, for fathers and those who work with them.
University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension’s Human Development and Relationships Institute is excited to host the third annual Fathers in Focus conference.
The free event will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, at Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Truax Campus, 1701 Wright Street, Madison, Wisconsin. Register today!
“Fathers in Focus is a space where fathers can connect and be supported so they can strengthen their roles in their families and communities,” says Dr. Alvin Thomas, event co-chair and associate professor at the UW–Madison School of Human Ecology. “Fathers, father figures, advocates and community leaders from around Wisconsin and the United States learn and grow at Fathers in Focus.”
All are welcome at this free event that will feature 18 presenters and a panel discussion to help fathers build their parenting skills and support networks. Keynote speaker Mike de la Rocha is the USA Today-Bestselling author of Sacred Lessons: Teaching My Father How to Love.

- Custody Challenges
- Mental Health
- Justice-Involved Families

Service providers who work with fathers and families are invited to participate and network. Continuing education credits are available for $75. Fathers in Focus includes continental breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages.
