Physical Space Changes
Children in justice-involved families may spend a lot of time in visiting rooms and waiting areas, these spaces can be scary and stressful for both children and caregivers. The Literacy Link and community partners are working to enhance these spaces to create a more child-sensitive environment that promotes literacy and learning.

Making Reading Memories
In Making Reading Memories (MRM), parents in jail are video recorded reading a book to their child. The video file and a hard copy of the book are sent to the child and their caregiver, allowing children to watch and read along with their parents anytime.

TeleStory
Developed from the Brooklyn NY Public Library, TeleStory is a free video visiting program that provides a safe, child-friendly space at a local library for children to connect over video with a parent in jail

Parent Education and Support
The Literacy Link brings a variety of parent education and coaching programs to boost parents’ nurturing skills.
