Anti-Racist Parenting

Pilot Program

Children begin learning about race and racism very early in life. Children as young as six months notice racial differences, and preschool aged children can notice that different groups are treated differently and begin forming racial bias. It is important to talk to children about race early and often, to help them develop a healthy racial identity and reduce bias formation.

Are you interested in talking to your child about race and racism?

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have developed an anti-racist parenting program and invite you to participate in a pilot study of the newly created program. If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child who is 3- to 6-years-old, you may qualify to be part of a pilot study testing our an Anti-Racist Parenting Program!

The program consists of seven 2-hour sessions, which will meet weekly via Zoom. In addition to the weekly classes, participants should expect an additional time commitment of approximately 30 minutes per week for at-home practice and to fill out feedback questionnaires. Your participation and feedback will be helpful as we further develop the program for future parents and caregivers!

Upon completion of the program, you will receive $50 in compensation. Participation is completely voluntary, and all information will remain confidential.
