This website offers a vast library of parenting information, articles, guides, videos, tools and quick tips on a variety of subjects developed by parenting and child behavior experts at Boys Town. Boys Town is a non-profit organization started a century ago by the legendary Father Flanagan.
Center for Parent and Teen Communication. This center and website for parents and teens are located within the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Articles, videos, quizzes, and slideshows illustrate teen growth and development, communication, character building, and health.
ParentFurther is an online resource for parents developed by the Search Institute to help strengthen family relationships and prepare youth for future success. The website includes information on improving family relationships, understanding adolescent development and helping youth prepare for the future.
Parents Magazine. Is a monthly national magazine that features science-based information on child development aimed at helping parents raise their children. While its focus is primarily on the daily needs and concerns of parents with younger children, it regularly includes articles on issues related to raising teenagers written by national experts.
Raising Teens. This website at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology provides a summary of a groundbreaking initiative to pull together current research on the parenting of adolescents and to distill from it key messages for the media, policymakers, practitioners, and parents.
The Teen Years Explained: A Guide to Healthy Adolescent Development. This extensive, free, downloadable guide is published by the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. It describes the normal physical, cognitive, emotional, social, sexual, and spiritual changes that happen during adolescence and how adults can promote healthy development.
Toolkit: For Parents and Teens. Developed by ACT (Assets Coming Together) at Cornell University, this website connects research to practice in the areas of positive youth development and adolescent sexual health. The Toolkit: For Parents and Teens includes numerous resources, guides and links to other websites that cover a range of topics of interest to parents and those who live and work with teens.
We’re Talking! was developed by the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF), a non-profit health care organization. The website was designed by a team of doctors, social workers, educators and teenagers to provide education to teens and their parents about important developmental and health issues. The site includes information and resources on adolescent development, teen sexuality, drugs and alcohol, adolescent physical and mental health.
